Kari Edman - On Your Mind Counselling

Hi, I'm Kari. I'm glad you're here.

Sometimes life changes suddenly. Other times, it's the slow build-up of work, relationships, family, and everything else that leaves you needing to make a change. Asking for help can feel huge, especially if you're used to taking care of everything yourself.

You don't have to wait until things feel overwhelming to reach out for support, and you don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. My goal is to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be heard, understand what you're going through, and find a way forward that works for you.

I truly believe that our physical health, emotional well-being, relationships, and life circumstances all affect each other. I'm looking forward to supporting you as you face life's challenges, rediscover your strengths, and work toward changes that matter to you.

"Life's challenges and transitions can leave us feeling overwhelmed, but with the right support, you can reconnect with yourself, restore balance and move forward with confidence."

Life doesn’t always go as we expect. A new baby, a career shift, changes in relationships, health problems, or the growing responsibility of caring for others can leave us feeling overwhelmed and not quite ourselves. Sometimes a specific event leads us to seek therapy. Other times, we just notice that our usual ways of coping aren’t working anymore. No matter what has brought you here, you don’t have to face it alone.

With 26 years in healthcare, I have a unique perspective on psychotherapy and a deep understanding of how physical health, emotional health, and daily life all connect. Over the years, I’ve worked with people facing many different health issues, demanding jobs, family responsibilities, and major life changes. This experience has shown me that our well-being isn’t about just one thing or one symptom. It’s shaped by our relationships, daily routines, stress levels, physical health, and life experiences - all of which affect how we feel and cope.

I’m especially interested in working with adults facing life transitions, such as becoming a parent, taking on new family roles, managing work pressures, dealing with health changes, or caring for aging parents. I also work with first responders, health professionals, and others who spend much of their time caring for others and managing demanding responsibilities, often putting their own well-being last.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on you. I use evidence-based methods like CBT, ACT, and SFT, and I tailor our work to your needs, goals, and readiness for change. My goal is to create a safe space where you can speak openly, feel heard without judgment, and begin to understand what you’re experiencing. Together, we can explore patterns that may not be helping you, recognize your strengths, and find practical ways to make changes.

You may have reached out because something difficult has happened, or because stress has been building up and you’re ready for change. You don’t need to have the right words, a clear plan, or all the answers before starting therapy. We can begin wherever you are and move at a pace that feels right for you.

Looking forward to getting to know you,

Kari Edman
