We have several types of practitioners at On Your Mind Counselling to cover as many insurance policies as possible. We currently offer RP and RSW services that are covered through many insurance benefits.
Registered Psychotherapists (RP) are covered under most insurance policies. It is important to inquire if RP’s are not listed under your approved providers. This has come up in the past where RP will be covered but it will not be listed, as there are so many service providers.
Where RP’s are not covered Registered Social Worker (RSW) usually are.

When possible please notify our office as soon as you know you can’t make your appointment. You can reschedule and cancel your appointment up to 24 hours in advance. After 24 hours we do require the full fee for the session. If an unforeseen emergency has taken place please let our office know and we will try our best to accommodate you.
All of our registered psychotherapists and registered social workers abide by the college’s code of ethics which indicates all counselling appointments to be strictly confidential.
There are several limits to confidentiality where psychotherapists and social workers are under legal and ethical obligation to disclose information if: (a) are in imminent danger of doing serious harm to yourself or others, (b) If there is reasonable suspicion based on your disclosure of abuse (emotional, physical, sexual, neglect) of vulnerable persons such as a child or elderly individual, (c) If there is a court order or summons presented to me for my court appearance, and/or the release of your records.
You will know your professional relationship with your counsellor is a right fit if you feel understood, heard, you feel you can trust and be open with your counsellor, and you feel supported.
