Hi, I'm Shelly.
I'm here for you.
Life is messy and it certainly doesn’t always go as planned or as hoped. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to ask for help. Congratulations on taking the first step! The therapy process can give you strategies and perspectives that will transform your life if you’re open to allowing it.
My focus is on building a safe, supportive and encouraging space for you to share any or all of your thoughts and feelings. I am not the expert in your life – you are.
Therapy is an investment in yourself. I’m ready to invest in you, all you have to do is say yes to yourself!
My role is to support you in the change that you are seeking in yourself, your relationships and your life roles.
I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work, as well as a Bachelor’s of Education degree in Teaching. I have over 20 years of experience in working with individuals, couples, families and groups across the spectrum of mental health and life stressors including chronic/acute illnesses, situational crises and transitions. I have expertise in treating acquired brain injuries, maladaptive coping, stress tolerance, addictions, grief and mental health wellness.
My practice is grounded in several evidence-based practice approaches based on what will best suit you. I draw from the following models: Cognitive/Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Self-Compassion.
It would be my privilege to be your guide and to help you get started on a new tomorrow!
I look forward to meeting you,
