Hi, I'm Shaloo. I am pleased to meet you.

Today you have taken a brave step to support your mental health and work on self-care and healing. As a Social Worker for over 23 years, I truly appreciate and value human resilience. I will work with you to access your potential and realize your inner strength. Counselling creates a safe and supportive space to cope with adversity, trauma, and to achieve healthy interactions in life.
Taking control of our own lives and seeking help can be a difficult journey and I am here to make it a little easier.

As your therapist, I will endeavor to listen to your concerns and help you view things in different ways while bringing effective change and enhanced wellbeing to your life. I believe in a client-centred approach, therefore, open communication about your journey and the goals you envision will drive our work together.

My approach in therapy and counselling is kind, respectful, and patient with an emphasis on creating an inclusive and safe environment. The models of counselling that I typically use include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused, and mindfulness practices. I have a strong background in working within school and hospital settings. I have provided support primarily to children, adolescents, and women who are experiencing a range of adversities, including social skills, special needs, anger management, stress, anxiety, depression, grief, bereavement, displacement, and loss. My practice includes providing my clients with strategies on how to cope with and manage life stresses.

As a South Asian psychotherapist, born and raised in Canada, I can speak fluent Hindi/Urdu (with some fluency in Punjabi) and I practice from an anti-racist and anti-oppression lens. I have worked with people from diverse backgrounds and strongly believe in finding the uniqueness in people. I am hopeful that we can work together to ensure that the counselling journey we embark on is meaningful and brings more positivity and optimism to your life.
