Laura Anderson - Square Image - On Your Mind Counselling

Hi, I'm Laura, and I'm so glad you're here!

Whatever may have motivated you to begin your journey in seeking support, I’m so glad you have taken this courageous first step. Whether you have recently experienced a loss or traumatic event, or are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, and not sure how to manage, counselling is a powerful tool to help you cope and thrive.
It would be a privilege to be a part of your journey toward
healing, growth, and self-discovery.

My approach in counselling is warm and non-judgmental. I help my clients to realize the strengths within themselves while helping them to tap into their inner resources, build resiliency, and enhance their “tool-box” of coping skills. I help clients manage times of transitions, stress, and uncertainty while creating a safe and authentic space for clients to explore and process experiences and feelings, as well as draw connections between thoughts and behaviours and create positive change in their lives. I work collaboratively with my clients and each session is uniquely tailored to you.

As a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Masters degree in Social Work, as well as a Masters degree in Psychology, I have years of experience working with a diverse group of clients. Using evidence-based practice techniques, I have assisted clients who are coping with stress, anxiety and depression, family and relationship conflict, violence, adjustment difficulties, trauma, loss, new diagnoses of life-altering illnesses, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

I truly recognize the bravery it takes to begin this process, and look forward to connecting with you!
